Not only that but Jim Martin went and served in Viet Nam! Not Saxby! He claimed he had bad knees from an old foot ball injury. I understand he runs several miles every day now on those "bad knees!" Imagine that.

Saxby is just another Chicken Hawk Republican.

Bush Method:
Choose staff members who are strictly right wing loyalists,
Let them remain in power until their incompetence either screws
the public or they get investigated for some crime.

McCain Method:
Choose staff members who are already under investigation
for abuse of power charges, and hope the public won't notice.

This saves a LOT of time. This is the kind of CHANGE
McCain will bring. ;-)

(Palin abuse of power investigation)

It's reprehensible when my congressman, Lynn Westmoreland calls Senator Obama and his wife Michelle "uppity" and then goes on to say he didn't know it had racial connotations. A man from the south didn't know, yeah right.
Rep. Westmoreland has had so many instances where he sticks his foot in his mouth and embarrasses his constituents in the national arena. Rep. Westmoreland and his cronies seem to serve to perpetuate hate and racism in our country and I am of the belief that if you say it, it's probably in your heart. Everyone needs to go to Stephen Camp's site and donate anything you can, $5, $10 or whatever you can afford to send Rep. Westmoreland back to Sharpsburg. Together, we can make it happen! Let's do it!

I really do think that Georgia can turn blue this year in both the Presidential and Senate races. Myself and the rest of the CSU Dems had dinner with Jim Martin at the state Young Democrats convention, and he's a very likable, insightful and electable candidate.

Thanks for letting me know about this blog. I'd be glad to take care of you again at Red Lobster sooner than later.

Jim Martin has demonstrated over the years that he takes very reasonable positions on issues of importance to the ordinary Georgia citizen. What a refreshing change it will be to have him representing ALL of us in the U.S. Senate.

Even if one was to ignore the egregious insult to all veterans the "Cleland is no patriot" ad truly was, Chambliss richly deserves to be cast out of office based upon his blind and slavish support for Bush policies regardless of how those policies would impact our state and our nation. At every opportunity, Chambliss has followed the neo-con Republicans in ignoring the U.S. Constitution and the Rule of Law. At every opportunity, Chambliss has voted contrary to the rights guaranteed each and every American citizen by our Bill of Rights. At every opprtunity, Chambliss has voted to support torture and ignore the most basic of human rights.

So many of the problems our state and nation face right now are the result of the knee-jerk elevation of the wishes of big business over every other consideration. We've seen Chambliss vote consistently and repeated in support of fossil fuel agendas with no regard for their human and environmental cost. And now our dear Saxby has jumped with both oily feet upon the ignore-the-facts "Drill Now" bandwagon. All while cheerfully overlooking the more than 64 MILLION ACRES of leases the oil companies currently hold -- and in some case have held for decades -- upon which they are not now and never have drilled.

Martin is a MUCH better choice for Georgia. Jim Martin makes sense!

Hi Dick,

I can't understand for the life of me their mentality for drilling other than to continue making recoed profits. I have so many questions, a few of them being
1) Why are they not drilling on the fields they already have leases on? Why must we drill off the coasts. I remember the people of Cape Cod throwing a fit about "the loss of their beautiful view" with the prospect of windmills. I'd much rather see a clean energy windmill off the Florida coast than a nasty oil rig that has the potential to further damage our beaches and waterways! 2) What about oil speculators in the market. It seems they are driving up the price of oil but no one is talking about it as Exxon/obile makes record profits while we pay $3.50-$4.00 a gallon for gas. 3) Why do they think we can drill our way out of this mess without any good thought to cleaner forms of alternate energy AND conservation? Why? Because it doesn't make them any money. If they could figure out a way to sell the sun and make record profits, you can bet your sweet patooti, they'd sell it lock, stock and barrel until it couldn't shine anymore, just for record profits!
4) Why would they tout nuclear energy when nobody knows where to put the waste? No one wants that stuff coming through their communities or burried near them. Who can blame them? I remember as a teenager growing up on Long Island, NY they built the Shoram Nuclear Power plant.
There turned out to be some design flaws and the prower plant was never brought online. Guess what? The customers for the Long Island Lighting Company (LILCO) are still paying for that monstrosity/farce in 2008! They've been paing for it since 1978!
So, we need to fight them all the way. I for one am committed to that fight and the fight to get Stephen Camp elected and send Lynn Westmoreland back to Sharpsburg so he can have more time to figure out how to dam the Flint River and plunder that end of our beautiful natural resource.
Thanks,
Joann
